Healing Stones

It was just 8 months ago today.  Fulfilment of a life-long dream, to go to Vienna, to the Spanish Riding School, to watch the amazing Lippizaner horses perform.  Tickets bought, flights booked, hotel reserved, all in celebration of our 8th year of togetherness.
The day before I was, as I am now, sitting at my desk writing the newsletter when I felt a sudden harsh pain in my back.  It got worse, quickly, feeling like a hot knife screwing hard into my left kidney.  The pain became unbearable.  I shall never forget the stricken look on the face of my Beloved as she called the ambulance.
Stuffed with morphine I still felt it.  ‘Worse than childbirth, ‘pparently,’ offered the paramedic.  Waiting in A&E I was overcome with heat, with cold, with agony, until they took me away and filled me from the other end.  All things must pass, sang George Harrison quoting the Vedas, and it did.  Eventually.  Next day they wheeled me up and into a big machine which told them I had many more stones in my kidneys, all waiting to pass.
‘Can they go away?’ I asked.  ‘Fraid not, said the doctor with a hope-killing smile. ‘Best you can do is prevent more from forming,’ and handed me a folder of instructions about diet and weight and lifestyle. Now I’m supposed to be a healthy person, an example to my students.  I teach Tai Chi and meditation, don’t smoke, drink or take drugs.  What had I done / not done to deserve this?

Then I decided it was up to me, and my Beloved.  The campaign began.  Chinese herbs, Poruguese herbs, drink water, plenty water, more water.  I started each day with the first thing to pass my lips: a concoction of lemon, ginger, tumeric and honey.  And shamanic healing, talking to the stones.  Why are you here?  What is the learning you have come to give me?  Find a new home!  Visualising them dissolving, pouring down into the earth, colors fading.

I felt no recurrence of any pain.  Five months later I went for another scan. No stones!  All gone!

I actually forgot to mention this last night in our talk!  But waking up this morning I remembered, and I am grateful for the practices I have learned, and applied, and, above all, for the love and support of my Beloved.  Now we are both looking forward to sharing some of the secrets of Taoist Shamanic Healing next week, in the hope that more will learn to heal themselves and others.

Glad to read you had positive results with the techniques you used to heal yourself. I’ve suffered from these stones my entire adult life. Lucky I’ve never had the severe pain others mention when passing the smaller ones. But now I have a very large 3cm stone that will require surgery to remove. I’m desperately looking for any other methods to treat this stone. If you could provide any more details on how you dealt with yours, or which Taoist methods or techniques may specifically help me with this, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much!
