New Book, New Program

While Anamarta danced across the deserts of  Rajasthan, I finished the e-book I’ve been working on for the past year and goodness me, did I get some surprises!  Did you know that, for example “…a dating site for married people looking to cheat, found that out of 6,000 of its users, 45 per cent said they cheated because their partner spent too much time on their phones or tablets… the demographic most likely to stray because their partner was snubbing them with their phone use was…”  I mean, did you even know that such sites existed?  Or do I lead an unusually sheltered life, teaching the Tao?
And hey, what about “….a study by the Specialist PlayStation3 site PS3pricecompare.co.uk of 1,130 British men found that one in three men would rather play video games than…”  well, who would have thought?!
Sorry, |I’m getting off the point: the book is about how you can create powerful tools to turn stress into vitality, not just with Taoist practice but a whole other bunch of resources.  I’ve added the cover info (Amazon have an exclusive on it for the first three months) below so you can have a taste but the best news is it’s only: $3.99 in USA, £2.48 in UK, E2.96 in Europe.
And I have to say, altho I did write it myself, it’s a book that’s going to make a lot of lives change for the better!
And help me out by giving it a write-up on Amazon.  I don’t care what you write, btw, all publicity is good!  And the more write-ups (reviews, they call them) the more people buy it.  Thank You!  Here’s the click.

Last month I was interviewed by Jena Griffiths Founder & CEO of Earth School – Learning with the Masters.  It was a wonderful platform to explain my personal take on what I’ve been doing for the past quarter-century!  So if you’d like to sample my views on Life, Love, Attachment, Non-Attachment, Chi Nei Tsang, Tai Chi, Shamanism, Meditation, and other things:  Video clips here.

Jena will be interviewing Anamarta on Thursday 23rd January so watch this space!

SEX, LOVE & LAPTOPS
“Kris Deva North’s powerful and well-researched book shows how to cope with the New Stressors of our advancing civilization, using the technology of today as ‘an instrument for accomplishing things,’ and offering a range of resources from our innate wisdom to ancient shamanic formulae of four thousand years before Masters & Johnson; powerful tools for transforming stress into vitality, for maximum enjoyment, and peak performance at home, work and play.
What’s to stress about?’ asks North, and the answers come thick and fast. ‘Can’t get it up, get it in, get it out, pay the gas bill, find a parking space, stuck in traffic late for a date, flight, meeting, house repossessed, dog run away, partner’s nose buried in laptop, or in someone else’s lap on a weekend away…Just been fired…Had sex with a stranger and picked up an itchy feeling down there…Or not a stranger? Friend unfriended and announced it in their status update, granny left money to siblings, cousin tweeted nasty things that happen to be true and now all the other twits know your guilt-edged secret…Been arrested for phone-hacking…Turned down by Loulou’s?’
Stress itself is Perfectly Normal. It’s how we react that gives us a headache. Is being upset about the weather going to change the weather? Would a sun-dance in the back yard or sacrificing a goat mollify the kid whose outing has been ruined? Would it even appease the weather-gods? Does rage at being stuck in traffic make the traffic go away?
There are more interesting things to get stressed about than things we can’t control. Meanwhile toxic emotions pollute the bloodstream and any physician will say you can worry yourself sick. Say you can laugh yourself better and they laugh you to scorn.
Just thinking the stress away may not resolve the practical issues of the problem but it will put us in the right frame of mind to address them. Getting yourself into problem-solving mindset needs practice just like you needed practice to learn to play ball – foot, net, basket, volley; to write, tie your shoe-laces, or dance. And remember: you started out a natural Winner: just one z got that egg.
But now a new and insidious normal is seeping in, a normal that thrives on Stress and threatens Vitality. Are we losing the human race?”
